{"id":156,"date":"2026-10-15T13:35:35","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T12:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sripuwath.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/15\/sri-lanka-manufacturing-pmi-steady-at-53-0-in-september-growth-continues\/"},"modified":"2026-10-15T13:35:35","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T12:35:35","slug":"sri-lanka-manufacturing-pmi-steady-at-53-0-in-september-growth-continues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sripuwath.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/15\/sri-lanka-manufacturing-pmi-steady-at-53-0-in-september-growth-continues\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Lanka manufacturing PMI steady at 53.0 in September, growth continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ECONOMYNEXT \u2013 Sri Lanka\u2019s manufacturing sector expanded at a steady rate in September 2026, registering a value of 53.0 on a Purchasing Managers Index compiled by the central bank, same as the previous month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis indicates that manufacturing activities  continued to expand at a similar pace during the month,\u201d CBSL said, noting the outlook remains positive, driven largely by optimism on year-end seasonal demand.<\/p>\n<p>The New Orders sub-index expanded in the month, registering 51.0, attributed to positive developments in both the food and beverages and textiles and wearing apparel manufacturing sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The Production sub-index also registered 51.0, for the same reason.<\/p>\n<p>The Employment sub-index expanded at a slower pace, registering 52.6, from the previous 54.8.<\/p>\n<p>The Stock of Purchases sub-index moderated towards the neutral threshold, \u201cindicating broadly unchanged inventory levels during the month,\u201d CBSL said.<\/p>\n<p>Suppliers\u2019 Delivery Times sub-index remained lengthened in September.
