{"id":110,"date":"2026-10-07T08:12:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T07:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sripuwath.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/07\/sri-lanka-prepares-for-third-aml-cft-evaluation\/"},"modified":"2026-10-07T08:12:37","modified_gmt":"2026-10-07T07:12:37","slug":"sri-lanka-prepares-for-third-aml-cft-evaluation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sripuwath.com\/index.php\/2026\/10\/07\/sri-lanka-prepares-for-third-aml-cft-evaluation\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Lanka prepares for third AML\/CFT evaluation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ECONOMYNEXT \u2013 Sri Lanka is preparing for the third mutual evaluation on international compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML\/CFT) standards, scheduled to be conducted from October 26 to November 6, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake\u2019s media division said.<\/p>\n<p>A meeting chaired by Dissanayake focused on the progress in implementing the relevant recommendations and action plan at ministerial and institutional levels, the PMD said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe discussion also covered matters such as operationalising the Proceeds of Crime Act, the implementation of the Companies Act and the amendment of the Trusts Ordinance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coordination activities relating to the evaluation process are being carried out by the central bank\u2019s Financial Intelligence Unit.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the third evaluation process will help strengthen Sri Lanka\u2019s credibility within the international financial system.
