Sampath Bank, Mastercard launch credit cards for CPM Sri Lanka members

ECONOMYNEXT – Sampath Bank, in partnership with Mastercard, has introduced two credit card variants for members of the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka (CPM Sri Lanka).

The new Sampath CPM Sri Lanka Platinum Mastercard and World Mastercard provide worldwide Mastercard acceptance, SampathCards Ultra Rewards Points, overseas travel insurance cover of up to USD 100,000, contactless Tap & Go payments and flexible instalment plans.

The World Mastercard includes access to airport lounge benefits and other travel and lifestyle privileges, while the Platinum card offers international lifestyle and golf benefits and an optional life insurance cover of up to Rs. 1.5 million, subject to the applicable premium.

Sampath Bank said the cards are designed to meet the evolving financial and lifestyle needs of professional managers, with pre-approved credit limits aligned to members’ CPM status, subject to the bank’s credit evaluation and policies.

Mastercard Country Manager for Sri Lanka, Mahesha Amarasuriya, said the partnership aims to provide professionals with secure and convenient payment solutions backed by global acceptance and value-added benefits.

CPM Sri Lanka Founder and President Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala said the initiative recognises members’ professional standing while supporting their personal and professional journeys. (Colombo/nov5/2026)
